Video Plans

This is a teaser-excerpt from the original performance art sci-fi piece "Spike" by Michael Menes & Company. This is a studio sample featuring the texture and mood we hope to create in high definition. The project, "Spike in the Wild" will feature scenes on a frozen quarry in the dead of winter in rural Maine.

One of the locations under consideration
for the primary scene...  a frozen quarry
in Buckfield, Maine.
To make a compelling video short, we are working on placing the first episode ("The Hatchling") in a winter landscape.  This should make for very interesting images because of the props and costumes and how they will look against ice and snow. With the right equipment and some luck with the weather, the cinematography should be AMAZING!

This does present some real challenges in dealing with mother nature, the outdoor locations, and keeping the talent warm. Temperature and accessibility will present some definite challenges. The goal is to create a cinema adaptation of the piece that will bring the concept to a whole new level.

We want to shoot with professional, high quality equipment.  Standard definition equipment will be used to document the project as material for a possible "behind-the-scenes" edit of the work.

We will be needing to mobilize a team quickly around the shooting schedule when the time is at hand!
